Growing up in a family of storytellers, Maia knew from a young age that she wanted to be able to share her stories and express herself through words. The written word was her favourite and she started reading early on, devouring books as fast as she could, whenever she could. It wasn’t long before she was encouraged to begin writing down the fantastical worlds she would create in her head and the rest - as they say - is history. Maia was around 9 or 10 when she finished her first story, a short story about a rescue dog named Black Widow who saves the day when some kids get chased by a bear while walking in the woods. After that, it wasn’t until Maia was 17 that she completed her first novel after several attempts. While that one has yet to be read by anyone other than herself, it convinced her that she would actually be able to take on the challenge of writing and publishing a novel. At the age of 18, Maia self-published Thrown To The Wolves and at 19 self-published the sequel, Rise Of The Wulves. Her newest novel, A Secret Never Told released in the summer of 2025.
